Vision

To protect and promote freedom of expression and to nurture living literature in Myanmar.

Mission

To defend writers who are harassed and imprisoned for expressing their view and to protect freedom of expression.
To condemn writing that includes deliberately falsified information (regarding ethnicity, religion or nationality) or generates conflict, and to oppose the manipulating of freedom of expression for personal or/and political gain.
To help establish a new culture of literature and to encourage evolving literary trends.
To motivate the formation of an innovative school curriculum in the education system that encourages new ideas and creative thinking.
